Hi! I'm Lindsy.

I used to think intentional living was an empty buzzword. It sounded catchy and meaningless, until one day, after having my second child, it clicked for me. Strapped for time, exhausted, and wondering what life was all about, it hit me. 

Life doesn't just unfold. We run our lives or it runs us. 

Making time to do the things that give us life is mindful, an intentional practice. Noticing what drains life is mindfulness, too.

Our thoughts and emotions can run rampant over our lives, too. Many of the ideas that we internalized in early life are simply no true and are no longer serving us. I started making affirmation cards to snap myself our of the thought patterns that were holding me back in life. Learning about the Enneagram has also brought me closer to wholeness.

I'm still walking this walk every day, trying to banish the negative self- talk and make a life worth living. I hope you'll join me.

What else? I'm passionate about beauty, nature, simplicity and play. Art brings me joy and fulfillment, which I love to share with others. FInally, I'm a full-time mama to three small kids, which has been the best course on life management I could ever ask for!


Some things about me:

  1. I chain drink hot tea. My favorite blends are black teas and warm spices.

  2. My hobbies include reading, writing, yoga, art, cooking, and sewing.

  3. I'm a vegetarian, but I won't say no to a crispy slice of (fresh, local) bacon.

  4. I believe in God and look to Jesus as a model for living life. Whatever you believe in, you’re welcome here. I see many parallels and overlaps between religions and spiritual modalities. Love, acceptance, and gratitude reign. Release judgment and shame. Quiet your mind and create margin in your life. It’s all groovy and I’m glad you’re here.

  5. I have a hereditary eye disease called optic atrophy. My optic nerve operates at about half of its normal capacity, leaving me with vision that is 20/120 with correction, and some slight color-blindness. This has a big impact on my life. I can’t drive, I use magnifiers, watching TV is kind of hard. It’s also been a catalyst for my exploration into consciousness, gratitude and healing. Some things are a blessing in disguise.

  6. I’m a former children’s librarian. Now I have the humbling honor of raising three little boys full-time. It ain’t no joke, my friend. If you are looking for an intense regime to help you cultivate patience, mindulfness, and conscious breath work - might I suggest parenting?

  7. I now live in the Chicago suburbs, but I hail from a super-small town (pop. 250) in the lower half of Illinois. These two perspectives constantly inform my life.
